Do Bears Sit in the Woods?

Well of course we do! In fact when I’m not fighting badgers I like nothing better than to sit in the woods with a good book. Now when my humans arrived at Cromasaig 9 there were no woods on the croft, which somewhat cramped my style. So Graham under close supervision has created one specially for me (and apparently also for biodiversity, wood production and for people to walk in if they like, but that’s all incidental). We now have five hectares – or twelve acres if you’re old – of new woodland for me to sit in. Mostly it’s of mixed Scottish native trees like Scots pine, oak, birch, hazel, aspen and so on, but with a few others too. He’s included some funny things like sweet chestnut, just for fun, and best of all a few conifers from North America to make me feel at home. I wonder how tall the coast redwoods will grow…
