A New Year, New Beginnings
A small box arrived in the post the other day. Nothing too unusual about that, but Graham and Eleanor seemed quite excited so I thought I would hang around for a look. They say curiosity killed the cat, so I should be ok (on account of being a North American black bear).
Anyway, inside the box there were lots of little packets with writing on. Since I can’t read (on account of being a North American black bear) I had to get Graham to explain. How do I write this blog if I can’t read? I hear you cry. Well, that will just remain one of life’s great mysteries. Anyway, apparently the packets came from a place called Victoriana Nursery and contain seeds of lots of different vegetables that they will grow in the keder house. Graham says now that the beds in the keder house are taking shape it is time to start growing things “for real”. Now, I’m not sure exactly what that means, but I suspect it indicates that the aim is to produce more than just a single pumpkin and some mouldy courgettes (see earlier post). Graham says he will be experimenting with lots of different things this year to see what works and what doesn’t, so that in future years he can focus his efforts for the highest returns. Until I see it I remain sceptical.
Basically, if it ain’t a blueberry my interest only goes so far. What the blazes is a mouse melon anyway?
