Corrections to the Previous Post

Graham feels that I presented a slightly unfair picture in my previous post, and has asked me to make the following corrections and ammendments:

• The sweetcorn, although small, was the most delicious he has ever tasted (I wouldn’t know, I don’t eat sweetcorn if I can help it).

• They did get some courgettes, they just had to be picked small (so they didn’t do very well then, did they?).

• I didn’t mention that they are successfully growing plenty of salad plants such as lettuces and radishes (ooh, yes, let’s just all eat grass then.)

• I also didn’t mention the cucumber plants, which went crazy despite the poor growing conditions and have only just finished producing lots of tasty cucumbers (that’s an oxymoron if you ask me).

• I also didn’t mention that they are gradually eating their way through the potatoes grown in tree bags in the side supports of the keder house (I still want to know when the blueberries are coming).

Graham would also like me to note that this year’s vegetables are just experimental to find out what is worth growing in larger quantities next year when the beds are complete, and has threatened me with disciplinary action if I don’t start presenting his new business in a more positive light (Down with the spin doctors say I! This bear tells it like it is.)
